Kaiser Permanente Women’s Fitness Festival returns to Capitol Mall

(FOX40.COM) — Women throughout Sacramento are lacing up for one of the largest women’s events taking over downtown Sacramento on Sunday, June 1.

Registrations are still open for the Kaiser Permanente Women’s Fitness Festival, which takes place on 9th Street between L Street and Capitol Mall. It features 5K and 10K events, along with a ‘Princess Run’ for girls 12 years and under.

Kaiser Permanente will be offering complimentary health screenings for participants at their ‘Thrive Pavilion.’

Attendees are also encouraged to donate to the event’s charity beneficiary, WEAVE.

The Women’s Festival has raised more than $77,000 in past years to support survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault and sex trafficking through WEAVE’s services.

WEAVE’s fundraising goal for this year’s Women’s Fitness Festival is $10,000, with less than $3,000 away from meeting the mark.

WEAVE is also asking for volunteers to help with this year’s event. You can find more information on how to get involved HERE.
