Finding a comfortable pair of sneakers is a “Goldilocks” situation. Some options are too narrow (or too wide), others don’t offer enough support, and then there are the sneakers that fit just right. In my case, I have high arches and am prone to plantar fasciitis, so finding sneakers that didn’t cause my feet to sit too flat was my top priority. After trying brands like Nike and Asics without experiencing much comfort, I took the recommendation of so many fellow runners and slipped into my first pair of Brooks. I instantly realized that these sneakers ticked all of my boxes. Bonus: My podiatrist approves of them, too.

Brooks notes that athletes have worn Adrenaline sneakers for 20 years, and I’ve laced them up for runs and walks for at least eight years. They’re known for being lightweight, breathable, and having cushioning that molds to your feet, helping your stride. The brand’s trademarked GuideRails support system is built in, too, to help you stay on your course and avoid taking additional steps to stay balanced. In addition to these features and the fabulous arch support, I love the added cushioning around the ankles because it prevents me from rolling my joints on uneven ground, giving me peace of mind.

Whether I’m training or need a reliable shoe for all-day exploration, these shoes keep my feet especially comfortable. In fact, they’re so comfortable that they’re my go-to sneakers when I’m traveling because I know I can take 25,000 steps per day in them and still feel like I can walk even more.

Functionality is key with sneakers, but I think style is equally important, and Brooks Adrenaline sneakers offer style in spades. Each version of the shoes comes in a variety of colors and patterns, and I appreciate that the brand always offers bright, pastel, and neutral hues. Currently, I’m training in a pretty light turquoise pair (Cloud Blue/Coconut/Portabella), but I also love the Orchid/Coconut/Purple and Chateau Gray/Coconut/Pink options.

The Brooks Adrenaline sneakers are available in standard sizes, including half and whole sizes, from 5 to 13. Fellow shoppers highlight that these shoes run true-to-size, and I agree; I’ve always ordered my standard size. My only note of caution is that the sneakers might feel slightly small on your first few walks and runs. But after a week or two, they stretch out just enough to fit perfectly and feel comfortable for hours on end.

After wearing them for close to a decade, my Brooks Adrenaline sneakers are the only pair I’ll wear for running, walking, and long days of exploring new cities. The arch and ankle support are unlike anything else I’ve tried, and its light weight and breathability make me feel like I’m gliding across the ground. I cannot recommend buying a pair of ultra-comfortable Brooks Adrenaline sneakers more highly—they’re worth every single penny (and then some).
