It is no secret that Hylo Athletics prices the Axis slightly higher than most brands in the daily trainer category, but that extra cost brings clear benefits. One of the biggest is the upper.
Compared to most competitors, the upper feels a step above in both materials and build quality. Ventilation also impressed us, earning a strong 4/5 score in our breathability test.
Cutting the shoe in half and shining light through it may seem like a simple test, but it reveals a lot. In this case, it shows a well-planned structure with plenty of airflow in the forefoot and additional ventilation through the midfoot.
